Street Photography Resources
I've been a street photographer since 1976, when I studied with Garry Winogrand. I've compiled a short list of short lists that you might be interested in if you are a street photographer as well. Here goes!
Street Photographers I Admire
Some of my favorite resources for street photography online:
IN-PUBLiC
A worldwide collective of street photographers since Y2K. From their manifesto: "[Street Photography can remind] us that, if we let it, over-familiarity can make us blind to what’s really going on in the world around us." The work is varied, but consistently outstanding.
Street Photographers
This is a group of lesser-known street shooters who come mostly from flickr. This is where you can find many up-and-coming street shooters. Self-description: "Street Photographers is an international collective of photographers, whose members carry on the long tradition of street photography. They capture un-posed moments, interpreting life around them and challenging our perceptions of the world."
Street Photography and the Law
Is street photography legal? Absolutely! Everyday Aperture offers a good. concise summary of what you can and can't do, legally, as a street photographer.
